Well I just have to be different.
Mine emits a continuous, extremely loud, high pitched buzzing sound, which is incredibly irritating even for a short period.
Many thanks for the advice, I'll try and put tape over it or get an auto electrician to fit an inline resistor, failing that purchase the seat belt plug.
