This method is used by a Canadian Morgan Owner. A machine shop hones/reams the stub axle for a loose fit. Loctite Bushing Retainer is used to hold the bushing. No reaming/honing of the bush. Heat is used to release the bushing when they are to be replaced. Not sure of the details of this.
That makes a lot of sense to me. With the conventional approach if there is any distortion along the tube axis the reamer may just follow the axial distortion resulting in having to over ream to achieve the correct sliding fit. This would result in a reduced life. With the Loctite method the bush/pin fit can be pre machined and the bushes allowed to float slightly on assembly (using the pins to align the bushes as the Loctite cures).
