A significant factor for you is that the hydraulic system comes with a rack and pinion box, so with a few conversion bits your pointing in the right direction. Also by having a new rack as part of the kit the system enables higher geared steering, brilliant for sport, and you can get away with a small diameter wheel if needed.

Having power steering totally transforms the car I found I am now steering from the wrist rather than the arms and the knock back on rough roads, especially cornering has all but vanished. I am also impressed with the feel of the steering it feels much more direct than the electric version which I tried. If you are up for trials , solo or auto test then I think this is a brilliant up grade. Certainly helped me.

The fitting was a bit involved as you may have to remove a section of the inner wing with a hole saw and cutting disk but all in all it was OK The quality of the kit is outstanding and I for one am now a power steering convert

Obviously this is my personal opinion but I hope it helps.

As a matter of interest, what did your conversion cost?
