Get to know the feel and characteristics of your car.
Experiment with varying combinations of gear/rpm until you "feel" the car's response.
I moved from a 93 4/4 with 1.6 cvh to a 2002 Plus8.
Totally different feel, response etc.
Both would pootle along with ease but the extra low down torque of the Plus8 made it feel almost an automatic at times with fewer gear changes.
The 4/4 needed more thought/reading of the road to maintain speed ( not just at high speed either) and gear/rpm matching.
For a while I got "lazy" in the Plus8 due to the added torque. When I thought about it I realised my laziness and reverted back to my 4/4 mentality. That doesn't mean hooning about....just getting the car to be in a suitable torque range by managing revs.
I find driving the Morgans (both I have had) is more enjoyable due to their feel and the way they make me think more yet not in a tiring way,
So, Hoggy......experiment, get an instructor on a track, whatever needed. Track is safer but sensible try-outs on public roads is ok. Yes.....watch out for animals! Remember, a posted speed limit is a max but not compulsory! Weather, wildlife, other users mean often going slower.
Oh yes......it is not true that rhe more louvres you have the faster you go!
Even a lopsided louvre pattern won't make the car go in circles either!
Reverse louvres? Do they make reverse faster?
