I have a 2005 Plus 4 which has only the lower grease nipple and on a 2000 tour of Scotland greased every other day ( about 3 - 500 miles max).
Recently my 20,000 King pins were dismantled and had very very little wear. So I suppose the answer is" The more you grease the less you wear!"
