Someone told me that to retain their broadcast licence each channel needs to introduce XX hours of new content each year as well as re-broadcast old pap.
This sort of cuttings/discard/d-list talking head stuff is becoming more common. Put it alongside recutting of previous programs (a look back at the best of XXXX) which are just cuttings pretending to be new content.
As you say repeating what we told you and telling you whats coming up next means two minutes less to fill paying d-listers for inane comment or clips from video libraries.
