My S&S is not a happy camper. I first thought that it was traces of water in the fuel. I used 'dry gas', basically 99% isopropyl alcohol, and that helped but did not cure. I am trying a fuel stabilizer now specifically designed to deal with ethanol but that is also verging on myth territory.
I have been reading up on it and there has been a significant increase in mechanics replacing damaged fuel pumps because of this. I have already replaced mine due to failure.
Until the law is changed and the Feds stop giving tax credits to the refiners for using ethanol I guess we're stuck with this.
Does anyone out there have an opinion or cure? If I lived next to an airport, I could fill up on pure aviation high octane goodness without a trace of ethanol for twice the price but It might just be worth it!
