Thought this might be of interest to other suffers.
Whilst my bonnet halves are firmly pulled down by the spring catches the top hinge has always been a bit too free and lose. It would rattles clatter and crash whilst driving around. I don’t know if they are all like this but I do surmise that this may be one reason why the front suspension gets so much bad press. But now I’ve sorted it and what a transformation. Even to the point that I have been driving around smugly aiming at the pot holes just to savour the silence
A very simple fix. A couple of meters of this
stuff . One meter attached to each bonnet and four little 1/8” thick hard rubber pads bonded to the hinges. I’ve had the pads on for a while but have just added the edging and it has made a significant difference to my car.
Little rubber pad bonded on - 4 positions
