I'm aware of the WSM bike event.

No, we don't. And we should. Weston was the UK equivalent of the Le Touquet phenomenon of beach racing and has stood the test of time, but is very moto-x focused.

There is the Straightliners drag racing over at Pendine Sands, but it hasn't fired the imagination of the media yet and suffers from very little access and accommodation.

Germany now have Glemseck 101 sprint races for bikes every September, but a similar cult following to the Pismo event.

Weston would be the people to talk with or Mabletherpe over in Lincs, who have run an annual winter bike race thing for years. But it's winter & that North Sea..

I see something like this taking hold in a very petrol head friendly location, and one with vision because local opposition would be great until the people and the money roll in. It was the same with the Brackley Festival of Motorcycling, and now they love it.

Any thoughts..?
