There have been some attempts to design a watch that can be worn on the wrist and read while driving but I never knew of the Omega Driver

Back in 2005 I had the early Omega museum pieces which was a recreation of a 1938 pilot watch. It came with a leather thigh strap which would have been a good idea for drivers except that the dial was still turned awkwardly through 90 degrees as it strapped across the thigh

I think Longines do a watch which has a dial can be turned and Breitling used to do a small watch dial on the strap which you could see with your hand on the wheel
