In the 70s and 80s dad was in an old soldiers thing he always wore his poppy with pride . One of the men he was friendly to wife used to sell them . Dad found out that they took a certain amount of that money for a night out with a meal and drinks . Dad was stonking told the so called under the thumb friend what he thought of them all and his friend ? for not putting a stop to it and dropped out of the old soldiers meetings . He hated cons and thieves .
