I know that this subject has been mentioned before especially on the series 1's(cannot find previous replies). Has anyone had experience of their series 4 Aero's starter solenoid clicking when trying to start the engine. The click is intermittent and only does it if the car is left for a week or so. If I keep pressing the starter button 3 or 4 times the engine will burst into life, sometimes it will fire up straight away. I have checked all the common problems sutch as earths and battery terminals (new battery fitted 1 year ago), always kept on trickle charge. This problem has been intermittent for a few years now and is very off putting.
My thought is that the starter motor will have to be replaced, my aero is a 2008 Series 4.
