I was a late comer to motorcycling following parental advice, but made up for it later. Even in the early 70's I had a hankering for the quirky and was searching for a Monkey bike when I ended up buying one of these.

The AS1 125cc two stroke twin served me well spanning the glorious summer of 1975 when it was used daily for work trips as far south as Brighton from London. At the time to me it was the mutts nuts with twin carbs, oil injection and five speed gearbox. Even managed an overnight to Bristol and back plus regular journeys to Hull. Remember seeing 82mph with a tailwind on one occasion after a decoke which involved pulling a brick sized lump of carbon out of one exhaust port.

This was followed by a new RD250 before buying my first Moto Guzzi, heralding a career importing spare parts for the marque.
