MPG is one of the indicator's of a well tuned Morgan or one that is not so well tuned. I keep track of MPG. Mind You in the U.S. 4 32oz qts = 1 gallon. Imperial Gallons confuse Me a bit. My Bitsa averages about 20 U.S. MPG on a trip. As I rarely drive in the City in My Morgan I really do not know. The 2.0 Zetec(w. Weber DCOE) DHC is about 24MPG and the TR powered +4-4Str 22 MPG.
1 gallon = 1.2 US gallons so your 24 mpusg is 29 mpg. Real confusion comes when you try to convert to go metric with litres per 100km and the number gets bigger as your fuel consumption worsens
It does show what progress has been made when a 3.5 litre 190 bhp engine in a 1 tonnes Plus 8 does 19 mph and a more modern 4.3 litre 500 bhp engine in a 1.5 tonne car does 16mpg.
