I am not worried by the mpg for the plus8. A 2002 4l in standard set up with Gems fuel injection.I am getting 30 ish per gallon, using Shell V power. I sense the engine runs better with it and for 7k annual mileage the £££ difference is negligible.
So....now for the comments about driving like a grandad!

Well.....I don't drive deliberately to save fuel. I don't race everywhere. I do enjoy the capabilities of the engine though
I don't slavishly monitor mpg as some seem to. I usually estimate from mileage recorded before next top up. Once a year I usually do a check but mainly to remind me of my rule of thumb estimates for refills.
