So the same thing applies to TV. But we knew that didn't we?


It applies to everything. Its unrealistic to expect a piece of journalism that has to appeal to a broad spectrum to be fully correct in the eyes of the enthusiast. If you ever did oproduce something that the "rivet counters" were happy with you would turn off everyone else.


You've nailed it Howard. Editors and journalists have been duelling over these conflicting demands since JC played fullback for Jerusalem. But the very best of writers do somehow manage to satisfy a broad audience along with the specialists.
