Thefts also went up when there was rationing due to strikes/wars etc. I remember
having a bigger allowance as she is a district nurse.
She had a nominated local garage to use in agreement with NHS, but got some comments (
) from some when getting fuel.
Arwyn is spot on too.....higher cost induces desire to have/make a profit.
