Just wondering, I notice "Budster" and "Jays" you are going Portsmouth / St Malo , instead of Portsmouth / Caen. Given Caen is closer to Montlehery, am I missing something or is it just a preferred personal choice?

The Portsmouth - St Malo ferry, being a longer crossing, allows time for a relaxed dinner on board. Also the ferry docks later in the morning.
With this crossing, it allows us to approach Montlhery from the west, thus avoiding the driving restrictions around central Paris.
