We are planning a move later this year. A new bathroom is planned in the destination house. I haven't looked at the details yet. I did comment about collecting rainwater to use to flush but swmbo is agitated (!) about such systems. Cost, underground tank, pump, pipework etc.. Yes. Not dirt cheap I agree. Having spoken to someone I know who has such a system I am not convinced they are economic anyway as a long breakeven is the norm. We will be only the two of us so maybe just water butts for rainwater for car washing/garden etc.. as that is cheap.

I remember hols in Greece where they have maceration systems. Quite a strange system when first encountered! A bit like the first impressions of the French toilets with "footpads" either side of a hole in the floor and no toilet pan. I remember swmbo reaction the first time she went into such a cubicle in a campsite in S France rofl
