I had a problem with My R&P. Too much steering movement. Turns out the R&P pinion gear was not being pushed fully on the rack because the Nylatron follower had seized in the slot. Removed Nylatron follower and filed it a bit so it would push the pinion down for a full mesh. I had help diagnosing this and it took a bit to find the problem/solution. I was forced to remove the R&P so it could be worked on the bench.



According to Darren at New Elms there should be zero play in the steering. They removed the rack and freed off the slipper bush, lubricated and re-assembled. Steering is now very positive.
