Don't do debt councilling, but once had a call from a woman asking for advice after her husband had taken out a loan on a car and the payment had come out of their bank the day before he got paid.
They had no savings at all apparently, so for several months they had locked themselves into a cycle of permanent debt, unable to recover.
Not good financial planning.
