Cheers guys, nice one.
Thing is also that the "arms race" has move on somewhat.
I remember 25 years ago and my first dabblement with odd ball stuff.
I bought a Westfield and built a 135bhp x/flow Supersprint engine for it.
Now that car felt so quick it was eye watering, I remember pasting a mates 2.8 Brooklands Capri as though it was a milkfloat. All relatively low speed stuff in fairness.
Now though you have tintops that are just so bloody fast even revered quick cars like Caterhams need to be very quick if you are the type that picks up the gauntlet easily.
Golf R's,Hondas, Fast Fords and even big oil burners are now brutally quick. I reckon my mapped BMW 1 series diesel would murder the Chimaera 400 I had not that long ago.
You'd need a quick 7 or Lotus to save you from a 100 metre sprint defeat by any of the tintops above.
So as I no longer compete and have no intentions of racing dickheads on the road I see the Morgan as a stress free and beautiful little thing to continue enjoying "fun" cars in a different way.
Maybe I'm not explaining myself right but I hope you see what I mean a bit
