We use the factory rack with NASCAR clamps on the roll bar. The clamps haven't slipped in 3 years of use with up to 50 lbs of load. The size of the factory rack is barely adequate for extended road trips and moto camping.
Ditto on the clamps! Easy to install and requires no drilling of some extremely hard stainless tubes. They look good, too.
Some friends of mine went over 8,000 miles in the US of A with smaller rack and no boot storage. It was a challenge but they did it. The passenger foot well will accept a large duffle smooshed by feet!
