Emailed the new publisher today & had the reply below:-

Glad to see my subscription has not been wasted. Will report more hopefully this week.
Hmmmmmmm.
I bought my subscription and App via Apple and Pocketmags. I emailed Pocketmags about a refund pro rata for the outstanding subscription. They said contact Apple as the seller. I did this and Apple are in the process of arranging a refund ( not yet fully confirmed, mind).
So....awaiting contact from the new publisher as claimed above.
Now the only question is will I continue subscribing if resurrection occurs.
This would be the 3rd publisher for the mag I think?
Maybe some Viagra added to the printing ink would help reserection?
