I used to religiously keep my pressure to the 22psi stated in the handbook. But after being advised by a number of people involved in racing morgans that the handling is better with slightly higher pressures suggesting 24psi I have compromised and am trying 23psi all-round.
I'm glad you've posted that, I thought I must be imagining it. On my 4/4, I felt like I was going to pull the tyres of the walls at the recommended pressures and there was an uncomfortable shift from the rear with quick changes of direction. I've got all four at 27psi (on a calibrated PCL inflator) and the handling in the dry is pin sharp and sweet. It's still rubbish in the wet but it's safer than it was.
Ride comfort seems fine to me, even on the rare occasion when I'm just dawdling along.
