If the vehicle isn't certified by the manufacturer there is no way around it. It is quite simply illegal. Get stopped it's 3 points and £100 fine.
3 points and a £100 I could live with, it's the potential affect on liability in the case of an accident that would worry me. The insurance company's lawyers would have a field day, I would think.
