I had huge issues with replacing an elderly Mountfield a couple of years ago... both new Mountfield replacements blew up. The supplier told me it was probably because it was a new model and they assemble upside down which the engines don't like... I was fully refunded and decided to go for a Honda. Whilst I don't have stripes any more, I suspect the Honda will last forever - it just seems so much better built than the modern Mountfield.
My Hayter non ride-on was stolen by 'travellers' who broke into one of the outbuildings.
