1982 4+4
It started this morning fine and then stalled. The electronics then totally shut down. The only thing working are the hazard lights. The main lights are on a separate circuit to the ignition and even they are not working.
I have checked fuses and they all appear OK as is the isolator switch.
My thinking is that the ancient and never ever turned on alarm/immobilisor has packed up etc.
There is a key which fits a key hole on the side of the car and when I turned this to what I presume is "armed" and then turned the ignition on the rev counter jumped. Then nothing, so I disarmed it again.
There appears to be two ancient alarms fitted. One is called a "Selmar Electronic Alarm" and the other is a "Genesis 1023". Both appear to Victorian in origin. Why I have two I have no idea either.
Any suggestion or advice welcome. Ideally I really need to remove the alarms and it looks like a nightmare job.
