Emil was inspired by Graeme at the Georgia convention in May. He has been developing the idea and now as a finished product. End results are box oil temperature never exceeds 150 degrees. For those of you who are concerned about bevel box noise, by maintaining lower oil temperature noise should be decreased sufficiently.
Excellent to see. While it makes sense to keep temps under control I guess we will find out from first adopters how much effect this has on BB noise! Did Emil get time to take any before and after noise meter readings?
But, not all noise is from the gears in the bevel box. Squeaking noise is usually related to the belt aligning with the rear sprocket. This is a whole other issue to be addressed (Emil spent better part of 40 hrs realigning rear hub tire drive gear with bevel box to eliminate belt noise) ...
I wonder if there is any kind of alignment rig that could help with that? Maybe a suggestion for Emil's next project!
