Falaise is worth a visit though its a bit of a trek, there is a restored castle were a certain William was born, and a WWII museum in a former cheese factory, place seems to have fallen on hard times of late and many shops have closed down.


Took your advice RIchard and visited Falaise this afternoon. We both really enjoyed it and the audio/visual show is really well done.

We were surprised to see how many empty shops in Bayeaux too with most of the shops offering Sale goods at the height of the season. Our favourite charcutier/traiteur has closed down, including many others in the city and it seems bolangerie's too. frown

What are we going to eat on the Speedcat on the way home? I'm sure we'll find a replacement supplier, but we had our preferences based on previous visits; after Le Mans events. flag
