There’s no way back for the USA now. They’ll NEVER ban guns and the people will NEVER give them Up.
I used to shoot a .38 in a pistol club in Chelmsford. After 5 years I was really starting to improve when Dunblane happened and things changed. The target shooting community were used as scapegoats because they didn’t argue for their sport (how could anyone argue for keeping our pistols after that?)
The Police officer who let that madman keep his weapons despite evidence that he was unstable was never punished. I sincerely hope he hung his head in shame.
Dreadful business.

I too shot at the Chelmsford 1944 club, represented Essex and Jersey when I lived there. The legitimate owners were made scapegoats for the failings of that police force.
As is being proved (sadly) at the moment you don't need a gun to kill lots of people just an ability to drive.
