I predicted a while back that BMW would become MMC's sole engine supplier.
Last year BMW announced their new small engines, as follows:
The three-cylinder petrol engines now come in 95bhp/162lb ft and 114bhp/199lb ft guises.
The four-cylinder power plants are available with 147bhp/248lb ft, 188bhp/295lb ft and 231bhp/331lb ft.
The N55 straight 6 puts out about 300bhp, but would it fit in any MMC chassis? I did wonder if the changes to the front suspension, moving the springs and shocks outboard, were to free up room for a strait 6.
BMW do not have, or have ever made, a V6 petrol engine.
The BMW S63 V8 is 4.4L and about 440 bhp, it would probably fit in the Aero...
ALL these engines are turbos, and very complex.
