Do you thinks it's possible to repair this without stripping the paint? looks like only the paint on the bead is affected. I'm worried that spot painting will be noticed if not immediately, it will be a few years down the road.

I think you're right. Both sides are eminently repairable I think.

What do you want as an outcome from it all..?It's not a flippant question, but you need to be sure in your mind what you'd be happy with.

My guess is that a motor repairer or bodyshop will sort that out fairly swiftly if it's simply aluminium panel work damage, and paint several layers over to make it look like new.

You've had the worst part now, the shock. The repair will be a lot easier I'm sure.
