I agree. Sir Jackie Stewart deservingly had his knighthood for what he has achieved for the betterment of racing since he retired from the sport. The sad passing recently of John Surtees, a truly humble man who was world champion on two and four wheels was never Knighted. The whole honour system is a farce imho.


Regarding John Surtees; the rumour in the industry was that he turned down a knighthood. Can't confirm the rumour, but this was from people who had worked with him.
