Steve,

thoughtful post.... and I think you have a point. Why have we become a bit less Morgan focussed and a bit more "state of the world'? I think there are a number of reasons.

First, and perhaps of great importance, many of us know each other in the real world: this is possibly the biggest difference between this and other forums I've given up on. Knowing someone, chatting over a mug of tea and a bacon roll changes the dynamic of the forum. I certainly tend to respond here as I would face to face, forgetting there are other people here that don't know me. In future I'll be a bit more thoughtful.

Next, the last 12 months have seen socio-political changes that are likely to have a profound impact on the world. We all have a differing perspective on these and tend to respond perhaps more forcefully than we should. In future I am going to try to avoid comment on these topics and whilst I don't want to see politics and other topics blocked here I do thing we should all avoid throwing petrol on the fire.

Last, the weather has been less than perfect all summer. I've driven Tarka half the distanceI did in 2016. I'm ashamed to say. So perhaps there is a bit of grumpy frustration creeping in.

Well, that is my 2 pence worth, I do hope no one here really backs off, it is a vibrant community of relatively sane, relatives like minded middle aged and older men, and women and I enjoy the fun.
