Unteresting subject. Sorry I' a bit late in joining in, but I have only had my 1985 +8 for a month and therefore only just discovered where the One Shot Oiler is (Thanks Melvyn Rutter)and that mine is rusted completely solid. It looks like I am going to have to ignore it for the moment so I am pleased to see that there appears to be so much disagreement! If anyone has a tip for loosening up the Oiler, I would appreciate it. At least then I would have an option whether to use it or not!
