What happens when a Morgan plus 4 runabout is "K-tec'd?" thx

Hi Cole and welcome to TM.
If your car is a 2004 Runabout, then the engine should be the Ford Zetec R (commonly called the 'blacktop' because the cam boxes will be black plastic )
On a technical note, it will have solid ie mechanical , lifters not the hydraulic lifters of the earlier Zetec and Zetec E engines ( called the 'silvertops' because they had alloy cam covers). Also, in a Morgan, the exhaust will exit by crossing under the body after the catalyst and then coming out at the rear of the car- the earlier Zetecs just have a straight pipe which runs front to back

It should be easy to tell which engine you have:
Looking from the driver's seat, the Zetec can be identified by having a silver cam cover with 'DOHC16v' on the bottom left, the Zetec-E has 'ZETEC16v' on the bottom left, and the Zetec-R has a black plastic cam cover

If you want a good explanation of the Zetec engine, don't bother with sources such as Wikipedia- look at:

Nigel Puttick, who posts on TM has a Runabout so I am sure he can give you much more detailed information than I can

regards,
G
PS If it is a 2004 Runbaout, then unless something has been changed it will be a 4/4 not a Plus 4
