I fully agree that vehicles last longer when not abused. I have over 100k miles on the original clutch in my supercharged Miata.
The benefit I see from the stage 2 specs is having a more tractable engine. S & S claims on their web site that this particular cam set enhances the engine performance between 2,000 and 5,000 rpms. Presently, I use 3,000 to 5,000 when out and about. The additional bandwidth would be nice... not necessary, but nice. I’m just not sure it is worth $3k of nice....
