OK Dave, so you've made a cardinal sin but many of us have done the same and even more have unwittingly done it through over enthusiastic kingpin greasing.
Simply clean the disk and caliper thoroughly and use a little degreaser to clean the pad(s).
After doing this take your car out for a drive and test your brakes; I will be extremely surprised if you can tell any difference. If, after testing thoroughly such as hard braking on a clear road, you are not happy then replace the pads.
Just bear this in mind: disc and drum brakes do not operate in a clinical environment. Can you imagine your average garage mechanic being overly worried about placing his greasey paws on your braking equipment?
Consider yourself admonished and don't repeat the mistake. Your penance has been to admit it on TM.
