In my less pecunious days when faced with contaminated shoes, a session with Mr Blowlamp, and the shoes laid flat resulted in the oil coming out at the bottom. A bit like drying chipboard with a blowlamp if you've tried it..........
I don't think it would work with pads as they are usually too thick.
