Loads of motorhomes and campers do the NC500 although I believe it was conceived as a cycle touring route.
I’d like to get a trip to France in sometime in 2018. That’s if it’s possible to get the +4 over the incredibly large speed humps at the Folkestone tunnel terminal. Looked fearsome from the van earlier this year!
The great things about the highlands is that all the roads are fantastic, so if all the grackles are following each other round the NC500 route that leaves all the others nice and empty for the rest of us to enjoy.
Don't worry about the humps at Folkestone, I take my 4/4 to France every year, I use the tunnel and I've never had a problem.
