The suspension setup curtails any large alteration and DaveW's reply perhaps sets out the limits. Then it's all down to tyres. A bit here and a bit there.
I share your concerns and have installed a very Heath Robinson advance warning device. Afraid I'm too embarrassed to describe it here.
