Shooter...How was the trip to hawaii?
I cheated for Hawaii and my first ride in Alaska! I left my bike with a Sheriff in Washington nState and they dropped me at Portland airport. I flew up to Anchorage arriving after midnight. First thing in the morning I picked up a rental bike, rode to Seaward, took a plane ride over the ice fields and Denali and then rode up to Wasila, had dinner at a friends and then rode back for a midnight flight out to Honolulu via mainland US, arriving at 11 am. Borrowed a friend's Harley and rode a complete circuit of Oahu before flying back to Portland to get back on my bike.
Effectively back to back day trips to Alaska and Hawaii. This was how I was able to do every State and Washington DC in 18 days!
Went back to Alaska for a week on the bike in 2009, taking my mum as a passenger!
