Not sure if every 5 speeder is the same, but it seems to take a few seconds of the engine turning over for them to start.
I used to have a Harley, and always gave it 2 "pumps" of the throttle before starting.
Anyway, I tried it on the Morgan the other day and it started much more quickly. give it a go and see what you think!
