Great that they are producing new cars for the rich to spend their money on, however they are not eligible for racing at the top events like HSCC and Goodwood etc
It is reassuring that the craftsmanship still exists to produce such cars , but they are only replicas , and as such will never be truly "accepted" by the real racing fraternity.
I can't see many owners wanting to run them on the road these days , so are they destined for museums?
Mind you some years ago I was driving up the A1 to the North past Ferrybridge Power Station when a D Type dropped in from a slip road just in front of my +8. I think he must have running some new components in by doing a few road miles. We both accelerated to rather more than legal speeds and held them for several miles, until he turned off for York and I settled down to a more sedate pace . Great memories. The noise of the open exhaust on that 6 cylinder DOHC race engine still gives me goose bumps.
