I last had a KFC on an audit to a small shop on the outskirts of Sheffield. The owner insisted that I had a KFC lunch..........
That was maybe late 80's. He was bemoaning the fact that KFC wanted him to run the outlet in the soon to be opened Meadowhall shopping centre - a huge unknown.
I think on opening day he ran out half way through the day and I suspect he became a millionaire quite quickly.
It’s amazing that nobody had confidence in Meadowhall
I remember I was doing some work for the developer just as it opened and they told me that it had been designed so that it could be turned into a prison if it wasn’t successful
