The proper description of a bodge is "Temporary Repair".

I once congratulated an RAC man on a fantastic bodge when my friends County 90 lost the power feed to the diesel fuel pump.
The cable had chafed under the transmission tunnel in an inaccessible place.

"That's not a bodge" he said, clearly defensive, "It's a temporary repair".


I’ve effected my temporary repair using K-seal which is what the local car parts shop offered me when I asked for Radweld. It remains to be seen whether it degrades into a bodge according to other definitions.
