But beware - if you try to lower the hood without releasing the Tenax fastener it can easily snap resulting in the stud needing to be removed from the rest of the car - not easy, and not cheap!
BHM have a very nice little tool to help the Tenax being removed - useful for those whose fingers are showing their age. It is not particularly cheap - but a lot cheaper than having the remains of the stud being removed!
I keep one on my keys as a reminder.

On the Plus 8 the Tenax fastener is mounted aligned with the pivot point of the Easy Up hood, so even if one forgets to release the Tenax clip the hood simply pivots on the stud.
