Mine shows 3/4 full when full and 1/4 full when empty. Chocolate teapots, handbrakes on canoes and handlebar mounted ashtrays are all more useful!
My Gauge used to stick on full, now sorted under warranty but I never trust it so, like Graham, I keep a fuel log on a spreadsheet going.
Its a bit of bother but interesting as I have a running average MPG (29.8 MPG after 2200 miles at the moment) from new, and a record of the trips made and total fuel costs to ire me.
