I guess your car is worth what someone will pay for it
I would like to think that my brace of 70's decade plus 8's gradually increase in value but I could think of better marques to "invest" in
However, "nice car mister!", from the lips of a streetwise skateboard dude, negates any concerns about depreciation.
What the hell! - If you like it, enjoy it.
We buy 'em coz we can!
Oh, I have the Boxster as well - Yeah, drives better, goes faster, more comfortable - so why am I never grinning in the rear view mirror?
I had one of my best versions of that yet, yesterday. Four teenage boys, two cycling and two on skateboards, were patiently waiting at a crosswalk for the light to change (pedestrians, even teenagers, are remarkably law-abiding when it comes to crossing roads here...) I was bringing my youngest home from a swimming lesson, and stopped at the light. One lad looks over, nudges his friend, who looks over in turn, nudges the third, then the fourth. It's this last one who yells "Sick car, man!*" which attracts the attention of a couple walking their dog further along the road. As they're looking over and smiling, the dog wanders round the wrong side of a lamppost and does that confused "how are you pulling me back that way when you're over there?" thing. Everybody laughs.
* Tempted as I am to answer "no, it's running quite well actually, thanks," despite knowing from my own teen that this is a compliment, I manage to restrain myself. And then the dog-lamppost incident renders it moot...)
